You have violated Statute 187, Section 9, Paragraph 12, Subheader 54, Bullet 295 of Federal Copyright Law and face up to twenty years in prison and a $200,000 fine. You are henceforth informed that your name has been blacklisted with all airlines for harboring, aiding, and/or financing terrorists and terrorist organizations, and any attempt to flee the country will result in your immediate capture and deportation to Guantanamo Bay for further questioning and additional charges, up to and including crimes against humanity, acting as an enemy combatant, and plotting terrorist activity against the government of the United States of America and its citizens. You will not be allowed legal counsel, and the United States Department of Justice reserves the right to hold you indefinitely, without filing charges.

You've done it this time.

Relax, darlin', all your sins are forgiven for sharing some Beautiful Prose:

...I was surprised that his hair was there but he was not.

...she had an Afro like a perfect daffodil.

Gawd. That is what separates the (honky bitches from the sluts? her book titles bring up warnings if you try to share them on email!) Nah, the poetic non-fiction writers from the James Pattersons and Jodi Picoults? I dunno. But I like her and read BHHB thanks to you, now off to explore her other titles. (if you haven't checked out Ms. Gillespie's website, do it, quite fun and I would love to attend one of her writing workshops, think the local library association would spring for it??)

Trailer Trash is IN, these days . . .

Sarah,
Of course Ms. Gillespie makes a lot of fun of her downward mobility, then upward, then downward. If only more true trailer trash could write essays like this, though, well, it'd be a different world.

Of course, a ton of rich people couldn't write essays like this either. I guess I'm wishing for a world of more thought and thoughtfulness in general, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Laundress,

You never know what ye old library association will fund until you ask... :)

I was being a little current-event-snarky here - trailer trash with LIPSTICK and $400 eyeglass frames (7 pairs). That's why I'm sayin' it is "in". But then, irony appears to be dead in some places.

Sarah!
Oh, I missed the snark! God, I am not quite myself yet, obviously, as there is nothing I love more than good snark.

Are you referring to the feisty political powerhouse of the nort' with the eyeglasses story? If so, I KNEW those had to be expensive glasses...Wow, though.

If I could choose one writer to be like it would be Hollis. Big statement I know, but I love her madly. When I grow up I wanna be like Hollis Gillespie. She lives in Atlanta, maybe I should stalk her. Ya think?

yes. Caribou Barbie also favors Escada. You do NOT find that at Kohl's. So much for "ordinary American".
