I read Uglow's bio of George Eliot and found it difficult to stay with.

I think she really, really knows her stuff, and the context of the age, but wow, sometimes I just need a little less detail. But I hope someday to have the time (and the eyesight!) to go back to this one anyway.

She's moved to non-author subjects. I found her latest, on Charles II, to be very interesting and readable. I want to have a job like hers when I grow up.
