I'm so excited--a book I indexed last year, Scoreboard, Baby: A Story of College Football, Crime, and Complicity, is up for an Edgar Award in the True Fact Crime category.* I hope it wins--it was a great and thought-provoking read, if disturbing, which pretty much describes all good True Crime. If you do read it you should be warned: you'll probably never look at college football players the same way again.
The full list of Edgar nominees is up at the Reader's Advisor Online, if you're a mystery/crime/true crime reader and are looking for some good suggestions. Now: go forth and have a great weekend.
*I'm really excited and all I did was index the book. I'd hate to think how excited I'd be if I'd actually written the book.
I'm excited for you. Makes sense to me.

Hey, not sure if you'll see this or not, but wanted you to know that UW Platteville is using this book as next year's campus read! I saw your review, read it, loved it, and suggested it to the committee - so thanks!

Laura,
Wow--this is great news--this book deserves to be widely read. Disturbing but important. Thank YOU for suggesting it to your committee; I'm sure if nothing else it will lead to many interesting discussions!

Definitely disturbing - but I think it will absolutely lead to great discussions! On a side note, I am also sadly on a reading slump - arg! Hate hate hate that. Hope yours is doing better.
