That is a great line. Brookner has now moved on to my "to read" list, actually any fiction that gets your stamp of approval automatically gets added.

Many of Anita Brookner's books (1990s) had godawful covers in the ugly mannered style of the day. So this one is quite the update.

Reading this type of book definitely takes another "sort" of reading, a different process. Hmmm, research project? Not for me!
